"I always could pick up an instrument. I used to go home to Gulfport for the summer. When I was about nine, I remember these birds laid in the mulberry were singing and humming, it sounded like a supernatural thing. I got mama to hear it. These birds were singing and humming. I heard music in the air. Beautiful music. I have heard an orchestra up in the air. I know I’ve heard it."
